Irene L. Finn, age 95 of Anamosa died November 4, 2011 at Northbrook Manor Care in Cedar Rapids.
Services will be held at 10:30am Monday November 7, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Anamosa. Father Wayne Droessler will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 6:30 pm Sunday November 6, 2011 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa; a scripture service will follow visitation at 6:30pm. Internment will be at the Holycross Cemetery in Anamosa. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.
Surviving are her children Marlys (Larry) Kula of Cedar Rapids, Mary Jo (Dan) Messerli of Anamosa, Michele (Dennis) Ford of Cedar Falls, and Maureen Finn of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Linda (Tom) Sojka-Parman, Jeff (Andrea) Kula, Lauri (Mitch) Martensen, Aaron Ford, Lindsey (Matt) Humpal and Holly Ford; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William July 5, 1992, and a sister Geri Snyder
Irene L. Snyder was born September 14, 1916 in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harley and Sadie Bauers Snyder. Irene was a 1934 graduate of Anamosa High School. On June 30, 1938 Irene and William Finn were united in marriage in Anamosa, Iowa. She was a life long member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Anamosa, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Started the Woman’s bowling League in Anamosa and was an avid Cubs and Hawkeyes fan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
In Lieu of flowers memorial may be given to Camp Courageous.
