Brad Stephen, age 42, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 Saturday morning, May 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 8 Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
Surviving are his wife, Pierrette Stephen; four children, Cole Stephen, Manchester, Shay, Kaylee and Sawyer Stephen, Monticello; his parents, Roger (Sandy) Stephen, Monticello and Linda Stephen Welsch and (Bob) Welsch, Waverly; his grandmother, Cathryn Roberts, Mesa, Arizona; his sister Michelle Stephen (Vaughn) Ellison, and his brother Greg Stephen, both of Delhi, and two nephews, Tanner and Jobe of Delhi; step-grandparents Grover (Mary) Lorenzen, Olin, Tara (Jim) Irwin DeWitt, Patricia (Taylor) Alsenay, Oklahoma; and step-brother, Eric Hansen, Colorado.
Bradley Paul Stephen was born October 4, 1969 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, the son of Roger and Linda (Swift) Stephen. Brad graduated from Monticello Community Schools in 1988. He attended General Motors Schools preparing for his PHD (Papa Has Dealership).
Brad was married to Amy McElmeel in 1991 and they had a son Cole. He married Dianne Pedrin in 1997 and their children are Shay, Kaylee and Sawyer. Outside of the Stephen Motors Dealership, Brad had a business relationship with Ted Kraus in rental properties and restaurants.
Brad lived life to the fullest. He made everyone his friend and was known for his big smile and wave of his hand. He was a great dad and he loved his children deeply. He will be greatly missed.
