Jennifer Rae Stickley Lowe

Jennifer Rae Lowe, 46, peacefully passed on to join the family’s canon of guardian angels on April 6, 2017, after a four year journey with ovarian cancer. Other angels waiting to greet her in Heaven in
clude her father, Paul Galen Stickley; grandparents, Clara and Ray Murray; Verena and Dwayne Stickley; and Uncle Earl Stickley.Jennifer will be helping them watch over surviving family members that include her husband, Doug Lowe; children Keaton and Carter Lowe and Allison Stickely; mother, Mary Anne Stickley; sisters, Patricia Gasmi and Ann (Jay) Goodlove; brother, Paul (Chris) Stickley; and six nieces and nephews.
Jennifer was born in Anamosa, where she graduated from high school. She later moved to the Des Moines area where she raised her family. In 2007, she graduated Magna Cum Laude at Upper Iowa University with a degree in education. After that, she started working as a special educator at Willard in Des Moines while continuing with her master’s degree at Drake University. Children brought Jennifer so much joy and being an educator came naturally to her. She also loved spending time playing games with her family and traveling to visit friends and family. During her four year journey with cancer, Jennifer remained positive and spiritually healthy, and she was a role model for everyone she knew.
Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Jennifer’s life at St. Patrick’s church in Anamosa on Friday, April 21 from 3 to 6 p.m., starting with a prayer service. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m.
