Russell Randolph Stiffler
February 17, 1943 – January 12, 2018
Russell Stiffler, 74, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held 11:00 Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018, at the Peace United Church of Christ, Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends called from 4 until 7 Tuesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Pastor Mike Cleeton officiated at the services.
Surviving is his wife, Jane Stiffler; four sons, Dennis (Pam), Scott, Will (Kori), Zebb (Jennifer); eleven grandchildren, Sarah, David, Jason, Lucas, Alex, Kinsey, Nicholas, Tyler, Amelia, Emma and Bryant; two brothers, Paul Stiffler and Colin (Carol) Stiffler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Matt, in 2001, and a brother, Keith.
Russell Randolph Stiffler was born February 17, 1943, at Scotch Grove. He was the son of Edwin and Leona (Etten) Stiffler. He graduated from Anamosa Community Schools in 1960. Russell then worked at the Anamosa Silo Company and later at Cuckler Buildings in Monticello. On April 30, 1966, Russell married Jane Zumbrunnen. Russell started working at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids in 1966 as a machinist. He retired in 1998 after thirty-two years.
In retirement, Russell enjoyed gardening of all kinds, playing cards, going to Stone City, riding his bike around town and being with his family. He will be missed.
