| Irma Bunce, 102, of Hiawatha, died on October 2, 2018. She was born March 24, 1916, to George and Margaretta (Allen) Streif.Irma grew up in the Farley area and attended business college in Dubuque. She was working as a legal secretary when she met her husband, Dean. They were married on July 4, 1941. They raised their family in Anamosa where Irma later served as the secretary for the Warden at the Anamosa Reformatory.Some of her favorite activities included playing her organ, gardening, and cooking for the family. Dean and Irma enjoyed dancing and were members of the Merrimix Formal Dance Club. Family vacations always included Florida where Dean and Irma later made their retirement home. In 1993, they moved back to Cedar Rapids to be closer to family. Irma is survived by her sons, David and Gary (Yvonne); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, and by three sisters and one brother.A visitation was held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. with a service following at 2:00 p.m. Visitation and service were held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial will take place.
