Lorraine M. Thomas Keller Carpenter
August 17, 1938 – September 11, 2017
Lorraine M. Keller, 79, of Oxford Junction and formerly of Bettendorf, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 11, 2017, at the Clarence Nursing Home in Clarence.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction. The Rev. T. N. Taylor will officiate. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Services will be assisting the family.
Lorraine was born on August 17, 1938, in Pine County, Minnesota, to John and Emma (Churchill) Thomas. She married Richard Keller Sr., and later married Robert Carpenter.
She worked at J. I. Case for seven years as a welder and was a homemaker raising eight children. Lorraine was a member of Assembly of God Church, Oxford Junction. She enjoyed playing Bingo, singing karaoke and attending the casino. She was a CNA for several years.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Renda Leslie of Oxford Junction, Richard (Beth) Keller of Oxford Junction, Jeff Keller of Oxford Junction, Kurt (Sally) Keller of Olin, Ronda (Harry) Dunfee of Oxford Junction, Debra (Tommy) Otten of Oxford Junction, Misty (Brian) Arensdorf of Oxford Junction, and Bobbie Carpenter of Bettendorf; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Hansen and Mabel Thomas of Minnesota; and two brothers, James Thomas and Russell Thomas of Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four brothers and son-in-law, Michael Leslie, Sr.
