| Shirley J. Koranda, 83, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at home.
Funeral services were held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. Friends and family called from 9 - 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction. Lahey Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Shirley was born on November 22, 1930 to parents George and Martha (Fritz) Vacek. She was united in marriage on November 26, 1950 to Junior Koranda, he preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. She was a member of the Oxford American Legion Auxiliary and was a very active member within her church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She loved to play bingo and cards.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Linda (Tom) Zaruba and Diane Koranda, both of Oxford Junction and her son, Kenneth Koranda of Federalway, Washington; six grandchildren, many great grandchildren and her sister, Virginia Carter of Oxford Junction.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
