Peggy J. Williams, 79, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the Monticello Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Monticello, Iowa.
A celebration of her life service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Christopher Doyle officiating. Burial will be in the North Madison Pioneer Cemetery in Center Junction, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming.
Peggy J. Vargason was born August 13, 1929, in Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Grace (Millsap) Vargason. She graduated from Wyoming High School. She married Gale Williams on November 3, 1946 and they later divorced.
Peggy worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, and was a cook at Duck Blind in Onslow. She also worked at the Lybrary in Center Junction. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping.
She is survived by six children, Pam Carradus of Longworthy, Gail Axtell of Loveland, Colorado, Randy (Michael) Williams of Center Junction, Steve (Lisa) Williams of Eldridge, Ron (Deb) Williams of Wyoming and Lynn (Mary Fritz) Williams of Center Junction; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maycel (Wesley) Finkle of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons-in-law and a step great-grandson.
