Leona Agnes Walderbach Osterkamp
January 17, 1923 – September 25, 2011
Leona Agnes Osterkamp, age 88, of Anamosa died Sunday September 25, 2011 at Silvercrest of Anamosa. Services will be held 10:30 am Friday September 30, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Father Wayne Droessler will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 5 to 8 Thursday September 29, 2011 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa.
A scripture service will be held Thursday evening at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Internment will be at the Holycross Cemetery in Anamosa. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.
Surviving are her children Lynn (Kay) Osterkamp of North Richland Hills, Texas, Terry (Diane) Osterkamp of Anamosa, LuAnn (Craig) DeMoss of Marion, Larre (Tracy McCarty) Osterkamp of Anamosa, and Tracy (Dan) Larrimore of Anamosa;14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis (2003); a son Todd Alan (1987); 5 sisters Marie Cook, Clara Martz, Lucille Walderbach, Thelma Feilen and Josephine Camber; 4 brothers William, Raymond, Robert and Leo Walderbach.
Leona Agnes Walderbach was born January 17, 1923 in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Charles and Edith Farnham Walderbach. Leona was a 1941 graduate of Anamosa High School. On February 12, 1946 Leona and Louis Osterkamp were united in marriage.
Leona spent most of her life at home raising the kids and taking care of the home. She loved playing cards, dancing, the Chicago Cubs, but the thing she treasured most was the time she got to spend with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Silvercrest of Anamosa and Iowa Hospice especially Susan Buelow for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jones County Meals on Wheels.
