Herman S. Welch
December 1, 1915–November 8, 1971
Funeral services for Herman S. Welch, 55, who died Monday at his home in Maquoketa, were held Wednesday, November 10 at 1:30 p.m.at the Carson Funeral Home in Maquoketa. The Rev. Paul Skelley of the Lost Nation Presbyterian Church officiated, burial was in the Pence Cemetery.
Mr. Welch was born December 1, 1915 at Monmouth, the son of William and Ida (Bickford) Welch. He married Beulah McNamee on June 1, 1937 in Maquoketa.
A carpenter and construction worker, Mr. Welch is survived by his wife, his father of Oxford Junction, one son, Keith of Lost Nation, three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Filloon, Sabula; Mrs. LaVerne (Beverly) Kemp, Eldridge and Mrs. Gary (Mary Jane) Binns, Maquoketa; one brother Manville, Monticello, two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Darrow and Mrs. Thelma Kiburz, both of Monticello and thirteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one sister and one grandson.
