Verna J. Wulff Hansen Petersen

Verna J. Petersen, 85, of Tipton and Wyoming, Iowa passed away on December 16, 2013 at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services celebrating her life were held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Iowa. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church. Burial was at the Wyoming Cemetery.
Verna Wulff was born February 5, 1928 in Clarence, Iowa to Ernest and Viola (Dettman) Wulff. She graduated from Clarence High School. After high school she married Leroy Hansen in Clarence; he passed away in 1964. On June 5, 1971, she was united in marriage to John "Heinie" Petersen in Clarence. They lived in Wyoming until 1986 and from 1986 to 1998 they resided at Lake Delhi. Heinie passed away in 2010.
Verna was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. She loved to spend time with her grandkids, travel, and golf in her earlier years.
Verna is survived by one daughter Jill (Ron) Tucker of Erie, Illinois; a step-son Steven Petersen of Walford; two grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Foster; one great-grandson, Brantley Laing; step-grandson Bryan Petersen; two sisters-in-law Donna Wulff of Clarence, Emma Pepler of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; and a brother-in-law Robert "Bud" (Naomilee) Petersen of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a sister Elda Wagner and a brother Darold Wulff.
