Joan Marian Zebuhr Stickley

Joan Marian Stickley, 86, of Masonville, Iowa, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on October 24, 1926, near Manchester, the daughter of William and Fay (Lee) Zebuhr. She was raised and educated in the area, attended Coffins Grove rural school and was a 1944 Manchester High School graduate.
On June 29, 1945, Joan was united in marriage to Everett Stickley in Olin, Iowa. Together they farmed near Masonville until they retired to Masonville in 1977. Over the years Joan worked at R. Place in Masonville.
Joan loved her family, and enjoyed bingo, gambling, playing cards, Nascar, and wrestling. Survivors include three children, Judy (David) Thompson of Independence, Jerry Stickley and Jan (Chad) Schwarting, both of Quasqueton; four grandchildren, Teresa Thompson, Troy Thompson, Kayla Alden, and McKenzie Alden; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Mast and Riley Stickley; two sisters-in-law, Velma Zebuhr of Manchester, and Esther Weideman of Anamosa; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Fay Zebuhr; her husband, Everett Stickley on September 18, 1997; and her siblings, Elizabeth Decker, Bill Zebuhr, Eleanor Fleckenstein, and Lynn Zebuhr.
Funeral Service was Wednesday, August 21 at Leonard-Muller Funeral home with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Interment as in Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville.
Casket Bearers were Jim Decker, Pat Decker, Bob Decker, Steve Decker, Craig Zebuhr, Scott Zebuhr, Curt Zebuhr, Jean Anne Griswold, Cheryl Christinson, Lori Hotz and Barry Zebuhr (in spirit).
