I worked all day on the hen house 1 d

Cold - Bell & I went to Maquoketa

We stayed to Newell Vassers last night started home this morning came to Tom Hamiltons to dinner got home at 3,30 o'clock

Up to Tom Greens to see Aunt Fannie

Shingleing 6 hrs It began to rain

Shingleing a little the wind blew to hard 1 day

Finished shingleing put up stantions & worked on shed & finished the barn 11 1/2 days - came home

Hunting got 5 squirrels 1 rabbit

Went to work on Bob Scroggies hog house 1 d

I went to D H Orrs to finish his hen house came back to Bob Scroggies to dinner - Bell came after me then we went to Canton

Matie & Ora & I went to Onslow back to Edies to dinner then home - I set my first traps

Sunday, October 30th

Very pleasant - Eva Hall died at 10 o'clock last night - I went to my traps & got one civit cat

Monday, October 31st

Very foggy - Bell & i drove to Maquoketa to Evas funeral - we came home in the evening - very pleasant

Very pleasant - I went to my traps got nothing went & cut a little wood

I cut a little wood forenoon went to Mr Lawless to finish his house 1/2 d

I was working on the house to day - I got hit in the eye with a nail & i came home in the evening 2 1/2 days

Foggy - I went to my traps got my 1st skunk

Pleasant - Went to traps then went to Canton Clifford & I

Pleasant - Chas Hovey & i went hunting got 5 squirrels 1 rabbit - Edie & the rest came down afternoon

Pleasant - Matie & I went up to Arties to pick corn he sold his hogs & we came to Tom Greens then home cut a little wood

Like summer - Matie & i went to Cascade back at 1,30 went to traps got 2 skunks

Bell & i went to Arties I helped to pick corn to day

Like summer - Matie & i & Clifford went up to help Artie pick corn

El Hovey was here to dinner - Jacks folks were here this eve

At home forenoon - we drove up to L Meads after dinner

Bell & I went up to Mr Lawless I put some thresholds under the doors - Made a wood box & wash bench

colder - I went to my traps got 2 rabbits & 1 mink - I went to Lodge Tady Milan went with me - Jo Garrety & wife was taken in the lodge to night

Jack Orrs folks were here to day - Edie & Mate came down this evening

I got 1 skunk this morning - Bell & went up to Edies after dinner to see Josie & bring Matie home

Cold - Bell & I went to Wyoming to Chas Ames came home at night

The river froze over - At home went to my traps got nothing - cut a little wood

Thursday, December 1st

Chas Hovey drawed me 7 loads of wood with Mr Falness team - I sawed a little afternoon

Little blustering - I filed a saw for Mal Kelly

Matie & i went to Onslow to Harrys to dinner then home

Cold 10 above - I went to traps got nothing then went up to Mr DeSarts home to dinner then we went up to Henry Smiths afternoon

Went to traps got nothing - Went to Winn Carrs bought 15 bushels of corn of Will McGlocklin

Very pleasant - I went to Wyoming was to Chas Ames to dinner started home at noon - the roads deep with dust - I went to traps got 1 skunk

Wednesday, December 7th

Very pleasant - I went to Tom Greens to see them - They got hurt Monday night

Like summer - At home all day

I was up to Lue Meads in the morning then home - I made me a small tool chest we got a letter from Josie & 1 from Mary Ames

Saturday, December 10th

Like summer - At home all day - Bell drove up to Edies afternoon - The boys was skating up from Canton to day - The roads are very dusty yet

1st Tracking snow - thare is 1 inch of snow this morning & still snowing the ground very dusty thare is 6 in of snow this eve

Very pleasant - I caught 1 skunk this morning

Millers sale to day - very pleasant - Bell & i went home with Jack & Lizzie stayed all night - Jack & I went to Wyoming to see a Lawyer - Very cold - I sold my furrs to day to Henry Fredlansky

22 Below - I came home this morning - Grand Pa went after Bell to day to Jacks

20 Below - I went up to Mr Lawless & hung some window curtains

12 above - I went to traps got nothing - It is snowing to day hard all day

22 above - Thare is abought 8 inches of snow this morning - Chas Hovey drove my horse to Canton afternoon

Very warm - 48 - Edie & Horace were here to dinner & Mr Fletcher - I filed a saw for him - I worked some on my tool chest - the sleighing abought gone

38 above - At home - I finished my tool chest - The roads are very mudy - We had a box of toys come from Bertha

24 above - The snow gone - I filed 2 buck saws for V Miller

28 above - Jack Orr & family Bart & Rilla W. N. Tippett & wife were here to dinner - Afternoon Jas Carpenter & wife came - Bart went to Jims in the eve - Rilla stayed with her Ma - very warm all day - Some skating on the ice & Lue Mead & family were here to day

30 above - It is misting to day - It rained all day

It is snowing hard this morning - It is the worst blustering storm this winter - We herd from Josie to day - We was all to Grand Pas to dinner - I went a horse back up to Jacks - It is drifting some

10 Below & Clear - Rilla went on the Prairie to day will not come back here the roads were not broke yet Big Drifts

Friday, December 30th

14 above clear - At home all day - It thawed some

Saturday, December 31st

34 above - I went to Wyoming then back to Onslow then home the roads are blocked full of snow in places - It is thawing a good deal to day
